ATTITUDES | Charles Swindoll

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitudes on  life.  Attitudes, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do.  It is more important than appearances, giftedness, or skill.  It will make or break a company... a church... a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We can not change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude.  I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.  And so it is with you... We are in charge of our Attitudes!"

My grandmother decided to move into a assisted living two bedroom apartment after we could not get her from doing all the things she use to do around her house like: painting, working in the yard or on the roof!  She finally hired some one to help her in the yard.  She worked the weed wacker and chain saw while the helper held the bag for the debris.  We know where I get my strong constitution from!  She finally moved in her 80s.  We enjoyed our visits.  This is the quote she had on her refrigerator every time we visited.  I loved it and knew how true these words are in life.  I wrote it down on my grandfather's work stationary from thirty years ago.  Grandmother I miss you!

There are so many things in life we do not have control over.  We do control our attitudes.  This quote is a wonderful reminder!
